Yeah Yeah Yeahs have shared full details of their first album in nine years, Cool It Down.
Spanning eight tracks, the album’s title is, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O said in a statement, "snagged from a lesser known Velvet Underground song." Speaking further about the record, which follows 2013’s Mosquito, she said while the band have "taken our time, [we’re] happy to report when it’s ready it really does just flow out."
Ahead of the album’s release, the trio have shared lead track ‘Spitting Off The Edge Of The World’, featuring Perfume Genius. Both Karen O and Perfume Genius star in the video, with the track itself focusing on the state of the environment. Speaking about the topic, O said: "I see the younger generations staring down this threat, and they’re standing on the edge of a precipice, confronting what’s coming with anger and defiance. It’s galvanising, and there’s hope there."
Secretly Canadian will release Cool It Down on September 30, 2022.
