LISTEN: New Xin

'Ffantom Contendt' features on the Berlin-based producer's debut album on Subtext

Next up on Bristol-based label Subtext is a debut album from Berlin-based producer xin following on from their debut EP which the label released last year.

Titled Melts Into Love, the album sees xin fragmenting influences of neurofunk, hardcore and dubstep, collaborating on one track with Manchester producer AYA (FKA LOFT). Premiering above is ‘Ffantom Contendt’, a distorted, disorientating cut built around whirring melodies and snatches of rhythm.

Much like xin’s debut EP, Melts Into Love will only be available for purchase through independent platforms Bandcamp, Boomkat and Resonate. It will also be available as a ‘biodigital’ LP, borrowing a concept from fellow Subtext artist Fis and his Saplings concept which has seen him donate all proceeds from sales to Eden Reforestation Projects. This means that each purchase of the album will fund the planting of at least 40 trees.

Melts Into Love is out on September 19 and can be pre-ordered via Bandcamp here.
