Wysing Arts Centre have announced the first clutch of names for their annual music festival which takes place later this summer.
With Nkisi set to play live and assuming the role of curator for this year’s festival, among the first confirmed names are Klein, Bala Club’s Kamixlo and fellow NON co-founder Angel-Ho. Lisbon-based Príncipe-signed Nídia will bring the sound of the label to the festival, while the clubcouture collective will also feature with a host of special guests connected to the label and movement.
Completing the first announcement are Petit Singe, Sarah Badr, Venus Ex Machina, patten, John T. Gast, Tribe of Colin, Abyss X, Felix Lee, Naee Roberts and terribilis.
The festival, this year operating under the title of ‘Opaque Poetics’, is the eighth to take place at Wysing and will run across one day on September 2.
"This is our eighth music festival at Wysing and only the second to be conceptualised and curated by an invited contributor," says Wysing’s Director Donna Lynas. "The relationship with Nkisi came about through her playing at Wysing in September last year and I am thrilled to be working with her again on the festival. She has pulled together a stunning line-up; one of great clarity and precision."
Early bird tickets are available until July 1, and after that the ticket price will rise. You can get tickets and find out more information here.
