WU LYF to Reunite for First Live Shows in 13 Years

The band have currently lined up three dates in Manchester, alongside festival appearances in Europe

WU LYF are reuniting for a run of live shows, beginning next month.

Marking the band’s first dates in 13 years, the announcement of the shows follows on from frontman Ellery James Roberts recently discontinuing the Lost Under Heaven project that he formed one-half of alongside Dutch sound artist Ebony Hoorn.

Full details of the reunion are still scarce, but fans on Reddit have revealed that they received postcards pointing them to this website, which lists upcoming live dates and features a countdown. It’s not yet known whether new music is on the way from the band, but an Instagram account, L Y F Recordings, has shared a post showing billboards emblazoned with the slogan, “A new life is coming”.

The dates listed on the website include three shows in Manchester on April 17, 18 and 19, which will take place at a currently unnamed venue. There will also be several festival appearances around Europe going into the summer, including at Brussels’ Les Nuits Botanique, Hilvarenbeek’s Best Kept Secret and Hyères’ MIDI Festival, among others.

WU LYF haven’t played live since they split in late 2012 having spent the year before that touring their only album to date, 2011’s Go Tell Fire To The Mountain.
