Chicago composer JR Robinson, under his collaborative guise Wrekmeister Harmonies, will be in London next week to perform his sprawling, electro-acoustic piece ‘You’ve Always Meant So Much To Me’, as recently released on Thrill Jockey.
The gig was previously billed as taking place on October 17 at Corsica Studios, but will now be on October 18 at Stour Space in Hackney Wick. Anyone who bought tickets for the Corsica show will get a full refund, while the Stour Space tickets are a mere £5 on the door.
Not only is the ‘YAMSMTM’ an immense proposition in its own right, but the live set-up promises to embellish this with a superlative line-up of collaborators: Robinson will be joined by Matt Ridout and Kevin Morpurgo of Dethscalator, both on guitar, Joe Thompson and Duncan Brown on bass and noise-making duties respectively, Alexander Tucker of Grumbling Fur and Imobogodom on strings and Cove’s Mark Davidson on drums.
The London show is also the first of Robinson’s six-date UK tour – have a look at the dates below:
