worriedaboutsatan have revealed their latest release, a sprawling semi-improvised piece in two parts, entitled ‘Shift’. You can listen to it above.
The record sees the Yorkshire duo press further into the worlds of longform ambient that characterised their contributions for the filmmaker Adam Curtis’ Hypernormilisation. Each part was recorded in one take, and is the first new recorded music from the group since 2016’s Blank Tape LP.
Released via Germany’s Wolves & Vibrancy, the recording has a limited physical run on semi-transparent green vinyl. You can preorder that

Of the new piece, the band said: “Fabian from the label emailed us and asked if we could work together, but we’d just signed off on an album we’d been working on, so we had nothing really to give him. But then we thought that might provide the impetus to do something pretty special-just get in a room and see what happens with some musical ideas we’d had. So we did that, and that ended up being ‘Shift’”
