Wormfood Announce 10th Birthday Gig And Wormex Conference

Wormfood celebrate a decade with a stonking late-night party with The Comet Is Coming and more, plus a conference at Arts Council HQ

Wormfood, a booking agency, record label and promotion agency, plus curators of extraordinary live events across the nation, are celebrating their tenth birthday this week.

The organisation are hosting both a live show at Electric Brixton with one hell of a lineup this Saturday January 13 (details below), and a special ‘Wormex’ conference on Friday January 12.

The conference is to be hosted at Arts Council England’s HQ in London, and will feature two panel discussions.

The first – entitled Brexit: WTF? How did we get here and what happens next? will be chaired by Chris Tofu of Continental Drifts, with panelists Bengi Ursal of the Southbank Centre, ex-Faithless guitarist and author Dave Randall ex-Faithless guitarist, Malcolm Haynes of Glastonbury Festival’s Silver Hayes, Jally Kebba Susso of Afriquoi, Alexandra Petropoulus of Songlines and Kaptin Barrett of Boomtown Fair.

The second panel will cover Global Music in the UK, and will be chaired by Wormfood’s André Marmot. Panelists include Quinton Scott of Strut, Steve Symons of Glastonbury’s West Holts, Antonia Odunlami of Gal Dem, Dan Raffety of Shambala Festival and Alice Whittington of Soundway.

At Electric Brixton the following night, The Comet Is Coming, Nubiyan Twist, Afriquoi and more will perform for the very special 10 Years Of Wormfood birthday show.

DJs include Daferwa, Nimble Jack, DJ Chris Tofu, Samedia Shabeen and MaxyB B2b Daddy Fe, while The Turbans and The Busy Twist ft KOG make up the live lineup.
