The Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley is hosting a ‘Women In Punk’ double bill on Sunday 15 June. First of the two films is Lukas Moodysson’s recent release We Are The Best!, a story of three young misfits in 80s Stockholm who find their voice through forming a punk band, followed by Sini Anderson’s The Punk Singer, an ace documentary centred on Bikini Kill/Le Tigre/The Julie Ruin’s Kathleen Hanna and the inception of the riot grrrl movement.
An introductory talk will be given by lecturer, musician and feminist punk author Helen Reddington.
