Classic Album Sundays have kindly given us a pair of tickets to this Sunday’s play-through of Television’s seminal proto-punk classic Marquee Moon. As ever, a vinyl copy of the album will be played through an audiophile hi-fi system, with CAS putting together a playlist of bands that both influenced and were influenced by Television, including the 13th Floor Elevators, Patti Smith and The Velvet Underground as a primer for the playback – have a listen above. The event will be presented by Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy at The Hanbury Arms in London, while the New York event will be presented by Bryan Waterman, the author of the 33 1/3 book on the album, on March 23 at Output in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. To get hold of tickets, read more about the album and for full details on the playback and the sound system, head to CAS’ website here. To be in with a chance of winning, just send your answer to the following question to comps@thequietus.com, with ‘TELEVISION’ in the subject line.
