White Stripes To Release Documentary

Canadian tour immmortalised on film

Blues-rock magicians The White Stripes are set to bring their explosive, sweat-soaked live performances right into people’s living rooms by releasing a new live DVD.

Jack White has revealed that a documentary of the band’s tour of Canada in 2007, in which they played every territory and provence in the country including isolated spots such as Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and Iqaluit, Nunavut, is being prepared for release.

He told Canadian Press this week: "When we started, we just didn’t know what we were doing, so we just [said], ‘Film everything, see what happens. We’d make up an idea at breakfast of where we’d play that day, whether it was on a boat, bus, school or city park, then we’d make it happen."

He added: ""We didn’t pre-plan it. I don’t like to do that too much, because I think it ruins things."
