Quietus favourites White Hills are back with their seventh studio album, So You Are… So You’ll Be, out through Thrill Jockey on August 19.
It follows up last year’s Frying On This Rock and sees them returning to Brooklyn’s BC studios to work again with Swans and Brian Eno producer Martin Bisi, promising "their most concentrated blast of psychedelic interstellar rock to date".
Above, we’ve got a first look at the video for the album’s second track, ‘In Your Room’, directed by the band’s bassist, the excellently-named Ego Sensation, who says: "It’s a journey into the theatre of the mind. The mind can become one’s ‘room’ – a place that might be comfortable yet stagnant and limiting. It can become a nightmare of delusional, faceless fears if not checked by awareness, curiosity and compassion. So much discord stems from individuals placing too much importance on their own wants and inner feelings and too little interest in the outside world. If you are greedy, self-obsessed, fearful, etc, your experience of the world will be exactly that. So You Are… So You’ll Be."
Head to the label’s site to pre-order the album, and in the meantime, here are the band’s two UK dates for the year, concluding their mammoth 60-date world tour:
