It seems like animation is the place to be for music videos of late, and here’s a heart-tugger from Wilco – watch their promo for ‘Sunloathe’ from last year’s The Whole Love below, via Pitchfork:
Illustrated by the band’s touring drum tech Nathaniel Murphy and directed by Peter Glantz, it breaks the cartoon fourth wall, with animated monsters meeting their live-action counterparts (of seemingly Thames Television, circa 1975 vintage).
