WATCH: Peaking Lights – Dream Beat

Video for track from their recent Lucifer album, made for the Urban Outfitters Music Video Series

Peaking Lights have released a new video for ‘Dream Beat’ from their latest album Lucifer, out now via Mexican Summer – watch below:

Released in June of this year, the album represented a significant maturing from their 2011 LP 936. ‘Dream Beat’ is a fairly characteristic blend of dreampop and electronic psychedelia from the band, LA-based couple Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis.

The video, directed by Jordan Redaelli and Jason Miller, centres around the journey of a young woman from a morning swim in the ocean, around various locations in NYC, before eventually ending up at a fashionably derelict vogue club to dance the night away with her alternative chums. While it’s pretty devoid of any interesting narrative, the video fits well with the tracks hazy, drug-induced atmosphere.

The film is the tenth edition of the Urban Outfitters Music Video Series, with previous editions including videos for the likes of Toro Y Moi, Black Lips and Nick Waterhouse – there’s an interview with the directors, talking about the thoughts behind the video, over at the site’s blog here.
