WATCH: New Meatraffle Video

Meatraffle share video for their new single; watch it below

The next release from Speedy Wunderground sees Meatraffle and Warmduscher, a project featuring Fat Whites’ Saul and one-time drummer Jack Everett, come together for a double A-Side single, entitled Meatduscher. Above, you can check out the video for Meatraffle’s contribution to the record, ‘The Bird Song’ shot by director Malixie Boomshed.

“‘The bird song’ was written from a male perspective, believe it or not,” say Meatraffle of the track. “Some blokes think the term ‘bird’ is lowering the tone a bit. In Italy they call women Chickens, so the Stone Age is still with us. When I see a man in the pub, who tells me ‘I have to meet my bird in ten minutes’ I just burst out laughing and think of our song. Things changed and it made sense for Cloudy to sing it, because she adds a really great vocal and it fits perfectly. It makes more sense and it transforms into a natural protest song; political and funny at the same time. But this is no fucking joke!”

Both tracks featured on the single were apparently recorded quickly with “no hanging about or faff” and all finished in a day, both bands passing through the same South London studio having begun the day in a pub around the corner. Speedy Wunderground release Meatduscher on June 3.
