The release of The Silver Globe last year, the sixth studio album from Jane Weaver, was a huge success, garnering praise and favourable mentions from all over the industry, including winning the Piccadilly Records Album Of The Year award. Now, fresh from a Glastonbury slot over the weekend, Weaver is premiering a new promo video for space-pop single ‘Mission Desire’ in which the track is set to scenes from Marie Mathematique – the French 1960s mini-series about Barbarella’s younger sister.
The single is due out on July 15 as a digital download, and will also be released as a 45rpm split single with Cardiff-based musician Tender Prey. Weaver also embarks on a mammoth tour this summer, starting at Latitude festival in July, and ending at Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff, in October. For the full list of dates, click here.
