South Korean trio Jambinai will soon release a new album, and ahead of that, they shared a video of the three of them playing new track ‘They Keep Silence’ – you can watch it above right now.
Hermitage is out on 17 June, and will be the band’s first record for Bella Union. It follows 2012’s Différance, which won Best Crossover Album at the 2013 Korean Music Awards.
The band play traditional Korean instruments alongside guitar and drums, their sound a heady brew of rock, metal, post rock, noise and Korean roots music. As bandmate Bomi Kim admits: “Most people cannot imagine how our type of music fits together.” But fit it most certainly does.
They’re also a great live proposition as you can glimpse in the clip above. Jambinai will be touring the world this spring and summer, taking in an appearance at London’s Corsica Studios on May 16 and Brighton’s The Great Escape festival on May 21.
