Gabe Gurnsey of long-term tQ favourites Factory Floor will soon release his debut solo single, ‘Falling Phase’. It’s coming out on Drone, the label run by Death In Vegas’ Richard Fearless, as their fourth release, and ahead of that he has shared a video for the single’s B-side, ‘Partaloa’, which you can watch above.
On the EP itself, Gurnsey explores "humanising machines and electronics", with the A-side featuring vocals from fellow Factory Floor member, Nik Void. ‘Partaloa’ offers similarly machine-driven techno to that of Gurnsey’s work as part of Factory Floor, adding fits of percussion and modular synth lines over the course of its eight minutes and is now accompanied by a rather stripped-back, colourful video, made by Gurnsey himself. The EP is out later this month, while Gurnsey, Fearless and Taylor Burch’s video for the title track is below:
