Following the release of Eva Bowan’s second EP, Ringwoodite, she now shares a video for lead single ‘I’m Here, But Nothing’, which you can watch above exclusively on tQ.
Born in Poland, but currently based in Brighton, Bowan is a multidisciplinary audio-visual artist primarily working in the fields of music, photography, graphic design, illustration and video. After the release of her 2014 EP Hyperspectacle, she expands on her use of digital and analogue synthesis to create textured and airy electronic pop music, contrasting the smoothness of her vocals with the forcefulness of her bass synths.
The video accompanying the synth-led track shows Bowan wearing a traditional Japanese Oni mask, set against a night-time woodland backdrop. This is intercut with a series of overlaid images of Bowan as she becomes trapped within a reflective sheet, her movement mimicking her slow-motion dancing seen earlier in the video. The music video is directed by Helen Plumb, with creative direction by Bowan and Plumb. Ringwoodite is out now on Objects Limited and can be purchased here.
