Dev Hynes teased a new Blood Orange track over the weekend sharing an image of a notebook featuring the lyrics to a new song. Now he has posted that track, called ‘Sandra’s Smile’ online – you can check out the track’s video above
The title is a reference to Sandra Bland, the African-American woman who died in police custody in Texas in July of this year, while the lyrics also contain a reference to Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old boy who was shot dead in 2012 by neighbourhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman. The video above for the track is directed by Hynes.
