Watch: New Atlas Sound Video

'Quick Canal' gets a scene

A new video for Atlas Sound‘s ‘Quick Canal’ has appeared on YouTube – it’s not ‘official’, say 4AD, but it is ‘approved’. Thank fuck for that.

The song, torn from its rightful residence at the centre-piece of recent Atlas Sound album Logos, is a thing of swirling, sullen beauty. Bitten sore with wist, it’s Stereolab singer Laetitia Sadier’s vocals that really make the track so unbearably great – one of the greatest songs we’ve heard all year, in fact.

Anyway, here it is – it’s gone for that whole ‘weird-isn’t-weird-’til-it-rubs-up-against-normal’ thing, setting itself against an extended advert MFI recorded for suburban America after it blew up Japan. Enjoy.
