Last month saw the release of Ambiq 2, a new album from the Berlin-based instrumental trio Ambiq, consisting of Max Loderbauer, Claudio Puntin and Samuel Rohrer. Above you can check out the video for album track, ‘The Spur’.
The video provides a colourful and rather trippy accompaniment to the trio’s skeletal experimentations of drums and sparse electronics. With the music’s roots in improvisation, the album, which takes in the drumming of Rohrer and multi-instrumental duties from Loderbauer and Puntin, is designed with the most open-minded of listener in mind.
