Nergal, the vocalist and guitarist of Polish black metal outfit Behemoth, is publishing his autobiography. Sacrum Profanum is out in all good bookshops in Poland next month, and the singer is promoting it by posting a series of trailers on YouTube, which feature him reading and acting out stories – “some funny, some sad, some evil – some related to the band, some not” – from the book.
He’s just released the first one, which you can watch below. The overall aesthetic isn’t that far from those adverts for high-end perfumes, panning shots of a man looking over a city at night, but rather than dousing himself in eau de toilette, he sets a Bible on fire and lights a cigar from the burning tome.
