WATCH: New Kandodo Video

Frazzled new video from Simon Price of The Heads' new solo project, set for release soon through Thrill Jockey

Simon Price, of long running Bristol crew The Heads, is set to release his debut album as kandodo on 11th June through Thrill Jockey. A series of sun-fried psych instrumentals that draw heavily from the druggy haze of Spacemen 3 and the wide open vistas conjured by kosmische music and Ennio Morricone, it was inspired by Price’s childhood in Malawi. In advance of its release he’s released a suitably fuzzed-out video for the track ‘kandodo’ – watch it above.

"kandodo is for Price an exploration of tones, chords, and textures that evoke a very particular emotional response, a sense of yearning," says the text accompanying the album release announcement. "These instrumental pieces are lyrical and evocative soundtracks with an elongated and elegant song structure."
