Ensemble Economique, aka Brian Pyle (also of Starving Weirdos), released one of the more bleakly brilliant records of last year in Psychical, through staple of all things bottom-of-a-swimming-pool Not Not Fun. His new album, Crossing The Pass, By Torchlight is released at the end of this month through Dekorder.
The new album tones down the darkly manic side of Psychical that aligned it nicely with the likes of Shackleton and Demdike Stare – all rattling percussion and panicked, wordless voices – in favour of something softer and slightly more inviting. In advance of its release, he’s made a video for ‘To Feel The Night As It Really Is’, which was also released earlier this year as a digital single. Click to watch below.
