WATCH: Dekmantel Selectors Documentary

This year the festival looks into the team behind Amsterdam's much-loved record shop and radio station Red Light

With this year’s Dekmantel Festival just around the corner, the team have shared a short documentary taking a look at Amsterdam’s Red Light Radio and Records, a radio station and record shop much-loved in the city and beyond. You can check it out above.

The video charts the history of the shop and radio station through the stories of Orpheu de Jong, otherwise known as Orpheu The Wizard, and Tako Reyenga, otherwise simply known as Tako, as well as others involved in their day-to-day running. Both will be DJing at this year’s festival, while Red Light will also be on site hosting radio shows across the weekend.

This year’s Selectors documentary follows on from previous editions in the series in past years which have followed the likes of Joy Orbison and Ben UFO. Dekmantel runs from August 4-7. You can check the full line-up and buy tickets for the festival’s night programme and opening concerts here.
