Wardruna have announced the final album in their Runaljod trilogy which began in 2009, with Runaljod – Ragnarok set for release in October.
The album follows on their last in 2013 with the trilogy seeing them attempt to create musical interpretations of each of the 24 old Nordic runes with the use of various traditional Nordic instruments such as Kraviklyra, taglharpe, goat horns and birchbark lures.
Runaljod – Ragnarok was written, recorded and produced by Einar Selvik between 2003 and 2016 at his own Fimbulljóð studio, and a number of European live shows are planned for later in the year in support of the album which is out on October 21.
