Vladislav Delay To Reissue 2001 Album ‘Anima’

First released on Mille Plateaux, the album was Sasu Ripatti's third under the Vladislav Delay alias

Sasu Ripatti, AKA Vladislav Delay, is reissuing his 2001 album Anima.

Due out next month, the reissue includes the full album, which is comprised of a single, 62-minute piece that draws on dub and musique concrète. The new edition of the album will also include a ten-minute long version of the original piece, previously only available on the CD version released Ripatti on his own Huume label in 2008.

Released on the Mille Plateaux label in 2001, Anima was Ripatti’s third studio album under the Vladislav Delay moniker, after 1999’s Ele and 2000’s Entain.. It marked the first time Ripatti used a DAW within his production process, with the artist describing it as "the most organic way in which I have ever made music."

The vinyl reissue of the album via German label Keplar follows on from the remastered reissue in 2020 of Multila, a compilation of EP cuts for the now defunct German dub techno label Chain Reaction, which marked that record’s 20th anniversary.

Keplar will release Anima on March 25, 2022.
