We’ve previously reported that August 10 sees a new festival, Visions, hitting east London.
It’s got an ace line-up, featuring a rafter of Quietus favourites – The Haxan Cloak, Iceage, The Soft Moon – and is being held across three venues, Netil House, The Oval Space and New Empowering Church.
In anticipation of the event, and further coverage in the run-up, we asked the Visions organisers to put us together a playlist of acts on the bill and introduce us to the festival – have a listen below, and head to Visions’ site for the full line-up and tickets.
Say the organisers: "With a feeling that the London mid-summer festivals, and all the other ones close by, didn’t quite reflect what we wanted to be doing on an August Saturday in the city – with music we wanted to be watching – we decided to start something new. A collaboration between three different groups of promoters with a more artful/independent agenda was born (Rockfeedback, Bird On The Wire and Sexbeat – who had been doing their summer Radfest party previously), and some venue spaces that excited us were found and held. We then booked a bunch of acts we wanted to see, and hoped other people would too.
"The aim is for the festival musically to reflect a cross-section of highly exciting and vital rock music (Fucked Up, Cloud Nothings, Iceage), more leftfield and progressive indie-rock and pop (Jeffrey Lewis, Still Corners, Micachu) and forward-thinking electronica (!!!, The Haxan Cloak, The Soft Moon). We wanted all this to be seen at an affordable and open access ticket price, in around a summer park with a fun rooftop people could hang out on too and have a really good time."
