How’s this for a beautiful melding of musical minds? Vatican Shadow, the industrial techno project of Dominick Fernow, the man behind Prurient and head of the Hospital Productions label, has confirmed a show at Golden Cabinet, the ace music night based at the Kirkgate Centre in Shipley. It’ll be VS’ only UK date outside of London this year, with Fernow following in an unerringly brilliant run of curations from GC, who have so far brought Gnod, Cut Hands, Demdike Stare and Ekoplekz among others Yorkshire-wards. He’ll be playing on August 17, with support from Machine Woman and A New Line (Related) (and culinary refreshments in the form of real ales and vegan cake we should add). Before then, GC continue their line in all-round stand-up nights with Robert Millis, Philip Jeck and Basic House on May 25 – entry is free, no less – and Shit And Shine, Dwellings and Nadir playing on August 2. Head to Golden Cabinet’s website for full details, and stream Vatican Shadow’s Remember Your Black Day album and Boiler Room set, both from last year, below:
