Unsound: More Names Added

Krakow festival continues to warm up

As we’ve previously reported, Unsound are busy assembling a scorching line-up for their Krakow festival this year, which runs from 14th-21st October. Among the names already announced are the likes of Vatican Shadow, Hieroglyphic Being, Traxman, Vessel, Emptyset, Shackleton and a collaborative performance by Tim Hecker & Daniel Lopatin.

Now they’ve added a bunch of new names, to coincide with the release of tickets for individual events at the festival.

Heading up the list are KTL, aka Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley and Peter Rehberg, whose V album has been on heavy rotation in the Quietus headphones this year. They will be playing a live soundtrack to Murnau’s film Sunrise using guitar and electronics.

A similarly esteemed representative of the noise and experimental music scene, Japanese legend Keiji Haino will be playing with his band Fushitsusha.

Blackest Ever Black’s Raime have been added (alongside other BEB acts including Vatican Shadow and Black Rain), as has The Haxan Cloak, whose second album is due out later this year via Tri Angle.

Also added are ace psychedelic analogue house/techno voyagers JuJu & Jordash. Their labelmate Vakula, who was originally set to play, is no longer able to appear at the festival.

Also added are Beautiful Swimmers and Maximillion Dunbar, as well as a host of Polish acts: two sets from Jacek Sienkiewicz, one more club-oriented, one less so; SZA/ZA/ZE will be performing live music to the experimental films of Stefan and Franciszka Thermerson. Also added are Mazzoll, Niski Szum, Innercity Ensemble, T’ien Lai, Pietnaska, BNNT, Hubert Zemler, Tomek Choloniewski, Robert Piernikowski, Etamski, Bambino Sound System, Gathaspar, Sentel, The Phantom and Artfruit.

There are apparently still a few more names to be announced. Tickets for the individual events, as well as the week and weekend passes, are expected to sell swiftly, so the festival recommend investigating post-haste. For more information and tickets head across to the Unsound website.
