Unsound Announces First Acts Playing 2024 Edition

The Polish festival will this year take in sets from Lankum, Kali Malone and more

Unsound has confirmed the first wave of acts playing its flagship festival in Kraków later this year.

Returning to multiple venues in the Polish city, the event will, as ever, host a number of exclusive and specially commissioned performances, this year under the theme of ‘NOISE’. Among those is a collaboration between Aïsha Devi and Slikback, which will see them joined by Lord Spikeheart and bela; while jazz legend Anthony Braxton will link up with noise group Wolf Eyes for a joint live set.

Mica Levi will team up with Sinfonietta Cracovia to play a suite of orchestral pieces together, while Ukrainian artist Heinali has been enlisted to present a new show alongside Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko, based on the work of Hildegard von Bingen.

Lankum will play their first live show in Poland at this year’s festival, and Kali Malone will also debut her latest album, All Life Long, in the country, with the help of Stephen O’Malley, Capella Cracoviensis and a brass section of local musicians.

Further live highlights on the bill include sets from Still House Plants; ML Buch; Rafael Toral; FUJI||||||||||TA; The Body & Dis Fig; and upsammy & Valentina Magaletti.

As ever at Unsound, the lineup also takes in a number of DJ sets, with Kode9 set to play a ‘History of Hyperdub’ set; while DJ /rupture, Brazilian funk artist DJ Anderson do Paraíso, and a back-to-back set from Actress and Skee Mask round out the first announcement.

Unsound will take place from September 29 to October 6, 2024. Find more information here.
