Unsound Announces 2018 Panel Programme

Panel discussions and talks at this year's Unsound festival will involve the PAN label as well as us at tQ

Ahead of the festival kicking off this weekend, Unsound has announced the full programme of panels and talks set to take place through the week.

Amongst the highlights are a series of talks marking Berlin label PAN’s 10th anniversary. TCF, who has released music with PAN, will give a talk on swarm producing, while there are special plans for Amnesia Scanner’s live set which will involve a mobile chat interface for interaction with AS Oracle – the AI technology which will join them for the first time on stage.

Our own John Doran will host a panel on mental health in the music industry, featuring Lotic, Jlin and Eltron offering their thoughts, while Doran will also give a presentation called Selected Ambient Walks which will focus on Aphex Twin, the Cornish landscape and mythology.

Another of our team here at tQ, Luke Turner, will mark the release of his new book Out of the Woods, with a conversation questioning whether it’s time we reconsider how we travel through the natural world. Chris Watson, Todd Barton and Polish environmental activist Wioletta Smul will all join him for that.

Writer Lisa Blanning will lead a discussion on what cyberpunk means in 2018 with the help of Lee Gamble, theorist Jay Springett and Polish writer Agata Pyzik.

Moor Mother and Chris Watson will also give artist talks, while Olof Dreijer will be on hand for a discussion hosted by Resident Advisor, who will also speak to DJ and writer Kampire and co-director of Uganda’s Nyege Nyege festival Arlen Dilsizian, about music in East Africa.

Unsound takes place in Kraków from October 7-14. You can find the full breakdown of the panel and talks programme here.
