Audika Records, the label responsible for bringing a number of unreleased Arthur Russell recordings to light, has released a live album by the late artist, Sketches For World Of Echo: June 25 1984 Live At Ei.
The 10-track collection captures a live set by Russell at Phill Niblock’s Experimental Intermedia Foundation in New York City. Audika says the recordings see Russell lay out a "sonic draft for World Of Echo, the only solo album he released before dying in this same city at age forty." Early versions of Russell songs like ‘Let’s Go Swimming’ and ‘Losing My Taste For The Nightlife’ all feature, in addition to previously unheard pieces like ‘Sunlit Water’.
