Unheard Miles Davis Live Recording From 1991 To Be Released

The show in France was one of Davis' last live performances before he passed away

A previously unheard live performance from 1991 by Miles Davis is to be released for the first time next month by Rhino Records.

Merci Miles! Live At Vienne! was recorded on July 1, 1991, at the Jazz à Vienne festival in France, one of Davis’ last live performances with the Miles Davis Group before he passed away in September of the same year. It includes two songs, ‘Penetration’ and ‘Jailbait’, that were written by Prince, and will be released digitally and on streaming platforms, as well as in a two-CD set and as a double LP.

Rhino Records will release Merci Miles! Live At Vienne! on June 25, 2021.
