TV On The Radio Announce First Live Shows in Five Years, Unveil ‘Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes’ Reissue

The band will play shows in New York, Los Angeles and London later this year

TV On The Radio have returned from a five-year hiatus with the announcement of a number of live shows, as well as a reissue of their 2004 debut album, Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes.

The updated release of the band’s first full-length record will mark its 20th anniversary and will come with five additional tracks, which were previously unreleased – among those is a demo version of classic single ‘Staring At The Sun’. You can listen to another of the added cuts, ‘Final Fantasy’, which is an early demo version of album cut ‘Bomb Yourself’, below.

The upcoming series of live shows will see the band play four dates at New York’s Webster Hall (November 25, 26, 29, 30), three gigs at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre (December 4, 5, 7) and, finally, three nights at London’s Islington Assembly Hall (December 10, 11, 12). The band’s Dave Andrew Sitek is unable to take part in the shows, but remains part of the lineup.

The dates will mark TV On The Radio’s first gigs since March 2019 with the band having largely remained inactive in the more than five years that have passed since. Their most recent album, Seeds, was released in 2014.

Touch And Go will release Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes (20th Anniversary Edition) on November 15, 2024.
