LISTEN: Tripwires – Shimmer

New track lifted from forthcoming debut album, Spacehopper, out next month

We’ve previously heard ‘Catherine, I Feel Sick’ from Reading indie-rock quartet Tripwires’ forthcoming long-player Spacehopper (artwork above), out on June 17 via Frenchkiss Records, and now here’s another new track – listen to ‘Shimmer’ below:

Akin to ‘Catherine, I Feel Sick’ and the album cover’s shoegaze, well, shimmer, the new cut swirls in vast reverb tracts, but is equally shot through with thrashy urgency, including a nicely muscular bit of fretboard-manglery at the halfway mark and Rhys Edwards’ trebly, strident vocal turn.

Have a listen to ‘Catherine, I Feel Sick’ here and catch them at The Great Escape in Brighton on May 17 or at Paradiso in Amsterdam on the 22nd.
