LISTEN: Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Rework John Carpenter

Regular collaborators Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross share a rework of John Carpenter's classic Halloween theme

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and producer Atticus Ross, the pairing behind a number of acclaimed film soundtracks in recent years, have shared their interpretation of John Carpenter’s classic theme for Halloween.

"I clearly remember my friends and I at 13 years old conning our parents into letting us see Halloween when it came out in 1978," says Reznor of the film. "We left the theatre forever changed. We were damaged and scarred, with the shit genuinely scared out of us and that theme stuck firmly in our heads. John Carpenter, it’s your fault that I turned out the way I did."

Carpenter has described their rework as "moody and dark", praising the pair for doing "amazing justice to the original". The track comes ahead of the release on October 20 via Sacred Bones of a compilation collecting some of Carpenter’s movie soundtracks called Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998.
