Scottish folk group, Trembling Bells have announced a new album, Dungeness, which will be released on March 30.
You can watch the Tom Chick-directed video for the first single, ‘Christ’s Entry into Govan’, above. The track was inspired by Flemish expressionist James Ensor’s painting ‘Christ’s Entry into Brussels’.
Dungeness, which will be released on Tin Angel Records, is the band’s seventh album. You can pre-order it here.
Speaking about the album, Trembling Bells’ Alex Neilson said he hopes it will “appeal to [listeners’] sense of human frailty as much as their pelvis”.
The sleevenotes for the record were written by long-term Trembling Bells fan Stewart Lee, who says: "Praise John Barleycorn for Trembling Bells, whose seventh album remains both stoically historic and heroically now."
