Tortoise have a new album on the way.

Comprised of 10 tracks, Touch is the US band’s first studio effort since 2016, and encompasses elements of Krautrock, techno and jazz across its runtime, according to a press release. It was recorded between the three cities in which the group’s members now live: Los Angeles, Portland and Chicago.

Touch will first get a digital download and physical release in late October, before being made available for streaming two weeks later. It includes the single ‘Oganesson’, which the band put out earlier this year.

To mark the announcement of the album, Tortoise have shared a video for new song ‘Layered Presence’, which you can watch below.

International Anthem / Nonesuch will release Touch on October 24, 2025.
