Tony Allen’s 2009 Album ‘Secret Agent’ Set For Reissue

The record has been newly remastered for the updated release

Tony Allen’s 2009 album Secret Agent is set to be reissued next month.

The record, which was his first for the World Circuit label, has been newly remastered for the updated edition, and will be made available digitally and on double heavyweight vinyl. Original vinyl copies of the album have been selling for significant sums in recent years via music marketplaces like Discogs. Listen to the remastered ‘Celebrate’ from the album above.

The reissue of Secret Agent follows on from the release on World Circuit of one of Allen’s final recordings, 2020’s Rejoice with Hugh Masekala, which was given an expanded re-release last year. Allen’s final album, There Is No End, was also released posthumously last year, following his death in April 2020.

World Circuit will release Secret Agent on May 20, 2022.
