Tom Waits and Anton Corbijn will be publishing a book collecting 226 images taken over their 34 years working together.
Waits/Corbijn ‘77-‘11 (artwork above) will be something of a collector’s piece, coming in a plush linen slipcase with a print run of 6,600 copies, published by Schirmer-Mosel on May 8. As well as Corbijn’s photographs, it will also feature 50 pages of "musings and photographs" by Waits himself.
The earliest photos are black and white shots from Says Waits: “Anton picks up a small black box, points it at you and all the leaves fall from the trees. The shadows now are long and scary, the house looks completely abandoned and I look like a handsome… undertaker. I love working with Anton, he’s someone with a real point of view. Believe me, I won’t go jumping off rocks wearing only a Dracula cape for just anyone.”
