Tim Hecker has shared details of his latest album, his first to be released by 4AD.
Love Streams follows on from 2013’s Virgins and, in Hecker’s own words, takes its cues from “liturgical aesthetics after Yeezus” and the “transcendental voice in the age of auto-tune”. The album was recorded across 2014 and 2015 at Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik, Iceland, where parts of the composer’s two previous albums had been tracked. Hecker describes the album’s title as “a riff on the ubiquity and nihilism of streaming of all forms of life”. Love Streams is out on April 8 and Hecker plays London’s St. John-at-Hackney Church on May 5.
