A new online radio station called Threads Radio launches in London today (January 21).
It promises a "unique selection of upcoming, cutting edge music" and will also aim to offer a "platform for a range of socially and politically focussed talk-based content." The London studio will be based at The Cause in Tottenham, a club which opened last year.
Running alongside the London-based studio will be a Berlin sister station called Threads. A press release promises that Threads "will actively engage and participate in the issues facing the communities it streams from."
A launch party for the station takes place this Thursday (January 24) at The Cause. It will feature "an array of talent ranging from live experimental electronics through to spoken word, punk, stand-up comedy." More information can be found here.
