Radiohead’s Thom Yorke is gearing up to release the debut album by his newer band Atoms For Peace, the ‘supergroup’-of-sorts featuring long-term Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Mauro Refosco (percussion) and Joey Waronker (drums). Entitled Amok, it’s released on 26th February via XL and has been preceded by the release of a few advance tracks – including ‘Judge, Jury & Executioner’, which you can listen to here.
In advance of its release, he’s put together a mix for Dazed Digital that gathers together a host of Yorke’s own material – including unreleased tracks and remixes – alongside a couple of other artists. You can listen to the mix here. It accompanies a large scale interview with Yorke around the Atoms For Peace album release in the new issue of Dazed & Confused. Needless to say, for any fans of Yorke’s alma mater or his current and solo output – or anyone after sneak peeks as to what some of his band’s new album might sound like – it’s ideal listening.
