These New Puritans have unveiled a new track, ‘Brave New World III’, in collaboration with Royal Shakespeare Company actor John Heffernan.
The track features on a new charity compilation, Incidental: Music For The Stage, put together by the Royal & Derngate Theatres in Northampton, which sees musicians produce new work to be accompanied by dramatic monologue delivered by various actors from the stage and screen. Elsewhere on the compilation, the likes of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, White Lies, Guy Chambers and more have produced music to feature alongside monologues from Judi Dench, Stephen Fry, Maxine Peake and James Norton, among others.
These New Puritans have contributed three compositions to the release in total, which have been adapted from the score they produced in 2015 for James Dacre’s theatre production of Aldous Huxley’s 1932 novel Brave New World. Each of the tracks features a different actor, with James Heffernan, Maxine Peake and Indira Varma appearing across the three compositions. You can listen to ‘Brave New World (III)’, featuring Heffernan, just above.
Proceeds from the sale of the compilation will go towards supporting Royal & Derngate Theatres’ reopening following the COVID-19 pandemic, with the venue seeking a return to funding theatre productions made in its base of Northampton.
Royal & Derngate / Filmtrax will release Incidental: Music For The Stage on September 24, 2021.
