The Wedding Present’s ‘Hit Parade’ To Be Reissued

Originally released across 1992 and 1993, the two instalments of 'Hit Parade' will be brought together for the new release

The Wedding Present’s compilations Hit Parade 1 and Hit Parade 2, from June 1992 and January 1993 respectively, are to be reissued together to mark the 30th anniversary of their original release.

The two compilations featured tracks that the band released on standalone 7-inch singles each month in 1992. 15,000 copies of each single were pressed and most of them sold out within days of release – they all contained one original track and one cover. The series of records came off the back of the band’s first three studio albums: 1987’s George Best, 1989’s Bizarro and 1991’s Seamonsters.

The reissue – which will be made available in double-vinyl and double-CD editions, as well as on digital formats – comes with brand new artwork encompassing the sleeves from all of the original 7-inch singles. You can watch the original video for the first original track in the Hit Parade series, ‘Blue Eyes’, above.

Sony will release Hit Parade on September 2, 2022.
