The Streets To Go ‘Rave’ For New LP

For the last time, it’s not going to be like Lou Reed's _Berlin_

Writing on his Myspace blog , Mike Skinner has revealed that he is currently working on a "rave-style" album.

But far from breaking out the high-vis’ jacket to go and stand in a muddy field in Essex, Skinner has revealed that he is drawing his inspiration from the city of Berlin and not, as he subtlety points out, Lou Reed’s Berlin album, writing: "The album doesn’t sound like Lou Reed’s Berlin, because I never said Lou Reed, I only said ‘Berlin’ – Incorporating some kind of post-modernist arthouse Bauhaus row with foul mouths. But it’s not that at all."

Further elaborating on his new sound, he continues: "It now sounds ravey. It’s a ravey album that bludgeons you over the head with its stick of 1988 Romford, Blackpool and Philadelphia rock. It is an insane album."
