The Soft Pink Truth Details New Mini-LP, ‘Was It Ever Real?’

Matmos' Drew Daniel is back with his first solo material since 2020 album and tQ favourite 'Shall We Go On Sinning So That Grace May Increase?'

The Soft Pink Truth, AKA Matmos’ Drew Daniel, has a new mini-album on the way, called Was It Ever Real?

Taking in four new tracks, including a cover of Coil’s ‘The Anal Staircase’, the record follows on from 2020’s Shall We Go On Sinning So That Grace May Increase? LP, which ranked highly among tQ’s favourite albums of that year. You can watch a video for ‘Is It Going To Get Deeper Than This? (Dark Room Mix)’, the first cut to be unveiled from Was It Ever Real?, above.

The mini-album includes contributions from Matmos’ M.C. Schmidt, Daniel Clarke, Horse Lords’ Andrew Bernstein, Acetone’s Mark Lightcap, and Id M Theft Able, among others. It will be released on limited edition CD and cassette, in addition to digital formats.

Thrill Jockey will release Was It Ever Real? on August 19, 2022.
