The Soft Pink Truth: London Set On Saturday

Drew Daniel announces show at Vogue Fabrics after Matmos' Cafe Oto gig

Matmos’ Drew Daniel will be playing a set under his Soft Pink Truth guise straight after the electronics duo finish their gig at Cafe Oto this Saturday, May 31.

The Soft Pink Truth began as an outlet for Daniel to make poppy house music with a conceptual focus and this year sees him release an album of black metal covers, Why Do The Heathen Rage?, which is out on Thrill Jockey on June 16. With its subtitle ‘Electronic Profanations Of Black Metal Classics’, the album sets out to offer a queer critique of some of the racist, sexist and homophobic politics in the genre. Have a listen to The Soft Pink Truth’s version of Sarcofago’s ‘Ready To Fuck’, featuring Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak, below. Daniel will be joined at Vogue Fabrics by DJs QBOY and David Oh, playing a mix of "deep and alternative R&B, hip hop and electronica" and full details are over at the <a href="
