Transatlantic guitar-pop outfit The Soft Close-Ups will be releasing their new album, City Air, this spring. Ahead of that, they’ve given us a first taster in the form of Jodie Lowther’s video for the ace, lyrically astute title track (listen out for the nicely-stinging closing line). The band recorded the ten-track LP over the pond, with London-based singer David Shah laying down his vocals over music from Aug Stone, the band’s guitarist and Quietus comic book columnist. They will, we hope, be premiering some of the new material at a couple of forthcoming London dates, playing The Buffalo Bar on February 8 and Paper Dress Vintage on March 1.
